Safe & Smart Surf Carsharing in the UK
Enjoy the Ride—Safely & Responsibly
At Split The Juice, your safety is our top priority. While we’ve designed our platform to encourage trusted connections, we also recommend using common sense when arranging your Liftshare.
How to Stay Safe When Liftsharing
Smart Safety Tips for Liftshare Members
- Don’t share your full name or home address before meeting. We don’t reveal this information on your behalf.
- Always meet in a public place and tell someone you trust where you’re going.
- You can check or exchange IDs—like a driver’s license or student card—for added peace of mind.
- Not feeling comfortable? You’re never obligated to share a ride. Just contact your match to cancel.
- Check someone’s driving licence details or share yours securely here.

Check the Car Before You Ride
What to Know About the Vehicle
Ask your driver for their insurance details and vehicle info (plate number and make). You can verify MOT and tax status on the UK Government site.
Reminder: Our rideshare system is not for profit—contributions are based on government-approved fuel splits and don’t affect car insurance.
Your Details Stay Private
Privacy & Communication
Your contact details are only shared once you request or offer a lift.
Even then, your location is private—meeting spots are agreed upon together.
Your phone number and email will only be visible after booking and sending a message through Split The Juice.
